About PUKE (Prevention Understanding Knowledge Education)

PUKE is a dedicated specialist alcohol and other drug service for young people in Bedfordshire and Luton. We are not against alcohol, but we talk to young people about its effects to your body and how it changes the way you act and think. If you know what the risks are, then you can make your own choice about drinking. We talk to young people about sensible drinking levels and staying safe if you are drinking or around other people who are drinking. We help young people to have the confidence to say NO to alcohol if they want to.

PUKE is for ALL young people in Bedfordshire. You can come and see us at our base in Bedford or Luton or we can come and see you at one of the places you hang out. We can see you on your own or in a group. Everything that you tell us will remain private and kept between you and us. The only exception to this is if you or anyone else is at risk of physical or mental harm or neglect. You might want to chat about your own drinking or perhaps someone you know is drinking and it is worrying you. Maybe you want to know more about alcohol generally because after all, it is a drug. We will answer your questions and see how we can work together to solve any problems.

If you want to join in and meet other young people then we have lots you can get involved with. We have a music workshop where you can learn to play the guitar, drums or keyboard or come and improve your skills. If you just want to relax and have a laugh, you can come and play on the play station, sing karaoke, play CDs and games.
